I have a 2011 tracker flat bottom with a 40hp four stroke Mercury on it. I have a problem with my battery not being charged, checked Ac voltage on stator wires and it's giving off good voltage so i figured it was the voltage regulator so I replaced it and still nothing anything else I could check? Does the voltage regulator go to a relay? Thanks anything helps

i checked ohms across the stator and im reading .5 or .6 ohms, and the stator wires feel hot when motor running. could the stator be bad? also when the motor is at higher RPMs the voltage on battery goes down and the battery isn't even a month old yet

Your reading over twice the specified resistance. However readings are very susceptible to error on that low a scale. So make sure that they are correct before replacing the stator.
