Mercruiser 3.0 lx 4 cyclinder cranks but won't start.

Hello everyone,
I was having problems with my Mercruiser 3.0 lx cranking but wouldn't start. Took it to the mechanics and they changed the starter and solenoid (needed, it locked up), all new plugs and wires. They gave it back to me and it still did the same thing, took it back and they just called me and said it was a "CRACKED DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND IT WAS SENDING SPARK DIRECTLY TO THE PLUGS". Just posted this to help anyone who is still looking for a possible cause of their boat cranking but wont start. Hope this helps.

CORRECTION, when I picked up the boat the mechanic said it was a "CRACKED ROTOR". I took the boat out, which is right next to the shop and it ran perfect. There was a little problem with the idling, I told them and they fixed it in 5 minutes, runs like a champ. I have a 1995 Regal 182 Valenti Se Mercruiser 3.0 LX.
