Where is rectifier on 1994 115hp Evinrude ?

About to replace a faulty stator on my recently purchased boat and had planned to replace rectifier as well BUT darned if I can even find it ??????

Have noticed 2-3 threaded holes right behind the engines wiring strip, but nothing there ????
Would you not need a rectifier on this engine ????

Or am I going mad ?

Which model? There are a couple of places depending on exactly which model it is. It could be a stand alone rectifier near the terminal block, or it could be a regulator/rectifier combo mounted on top at the back just under the edge of the flywheel.

Ah, well, the model is e115TlERC...

And when I looked up the specs online at : http://www.boats.net/parts/search/BRP/EVINRUDE/1994/E115TLERC/IGNITION SYSTEM/parts.html

I can see that there is clearly suppose to be a rectifier (item 66) , but unless it's hidden, mine is gone awol ??

That's (boats(dot)net/parts ) under e115TlERC Evinrude ignition systems.

It may have #69, the combo unit, this is bolted on top, looks very different, and is mounted just under the backside of the flywheel.

Ahh cool,

Well i'm going to replace it while I have the flywheel off then. So I guess this part should do the trick. I have seen the unit sitting on top of the engine block and under the flywheel. So this is all I need then ?
