So when I give my pontoon full throttle the radio shuts off. Then as I scale the throttle back the radio turn back on. I can't find any loose connections.
Th engine is a 2001 Mercury 75hp 2 stroke.

Could it be the radio?

Put a meter across the battery and watch the reading as you go from idle to WOT. The motor maybe be putting out more voltage than the radio can handle and goes into shutdown for protection.

I won't be able to test until Friday. What could it mean if I am making more than 14v?

Unless is would be safe to hook a water hose to the engine and rev it up on land?

Don't rev it much on muffs, especially to WOT. All you really need is a very fast idle. Looking at the boat through the Interweb wires and not able to test it myself, I think the regulator may be faulty.

At about 1500 rpm the voltmeter should read about 14 - 14.5 volts. If it is more than that you likely have a bad voltage regulator.
