When I start the engine I blow the main fuse that controls all electrical. When I replace the fuse it will sometimes it will start. By mistake I left the key in the run position and when I put in the fuse in I could hear like a an electrical burn sound. I was on the lake and had to change out 4 fuses before it would start. Also I guess it is a lose wire. This is the second time i took the boat this year. Last year the last day i took it out I hit some big waves it cut off and did the same thing. I checked the wireing harness fuse box and it was loose so I screwed it back into place. Not sure it if it lose wire there or the ignition key starter. Thanks in advance.

You have a Merc but what motor?
Are you blowing the 20 amp fuse under the helm?

IN that case I would start but disconnecting the purple wires from your gauges. The gauges are all daisy changed so find the first one after the ignition switch and detach it. If fuse still blows, then check out your coil, electric choke and alternator connections (purple wires)
