I have a @ 10 year old Minn Kota Edge, 24 volt, foot controlled. A buddy of mine used it to load the boat on the trailer- as my cranking battery was run down. As he was trying to hold the motor out of the water and hook the winch strap to the front of the boat, he dropped the motor pull up rope. The TM hit the ramp pretty hard as the water was too shallow for it to go all the way down in the running position. He pulled the rope back up and set it on the mount. Nothing was visabaly damaged.
After loading the boat, the next day, the motor would not run. We checked voltage and are getting it all the way to the wires that feed down the shaft to the actual motor.
Question #1: Does the prop on this motor unscrew or just slide off? I have taken the prop nut off and can't get the prop off. I hate to beat on it if it is supposed to unscrew. If it unscrews, is it left or right hand thread?
Question # 2 : What should I be looking for when I pull the armature out?
