Hi .I just installed a battery in my boat to run my trolling motor.I had the trolling motor plugged into the Marinco plug when I was putting the cables onto the battery and I noticed that I had fire sparking when placing the ground onto the battery. The trolling motor has remote with a foot control and a hand held one.If I unplug the motor from the boat I get no spark. Is this an indication that my motor is pulling power when not in use?

Some of these ipilot trolling motors are on unless turned off and draining the battery was an issue. They didn't turn off automatically when stowed.

I can actually hear the unit clicking when plugging the motor in.Must have something to do with the remote control. My house has remote control switches for out side lights and when i use led lights for christmas they stay on very dim after hitting the off button on my remote control box.I guess it is on standby.
