Minn Kota Riptide conversion questions???

I am getting ready to buy a Minn Kota Riptide either 80, or 101. I want one with anchor mode. I hear the older models can be converted or upgraded to have anchor mode. Anyone know the cost of a conversion? Is it worth it? Not concerned with linking it to my gps just want anchor mode.

adm1476, I had no idea what a Minn Kota Riptide was so I looked it up and read a little. Seems it come with the GPS installed already. So not knowing anything else, I would say that the Anchor mode would have to be some factory installed software program to offer that ability. I ever searched Minn Kota's website and there was no questions about doing what you asked. So maybe contact Minn Kota for that best answer.JMHO!

A very quick google search showed $499.00 to put the ipilot conversion on it. You only have one option for a model, which is the complete ipilot system, so yes you will have anchor mode.
