Evinrude trolling motor?

My recently acquired '85 Monark has an Evinrude trolling motor. I got the Owner's manual and it states it has "15 lbs static thrust". Does anyone know what that would equate to in today's specifications? I have to believe it must be more as they used the same motor on big bass boats. In their day they were the preferred motor in weedy waters as the thing is as close to weedless as you can get, due to the way the motor is hung from the down-rod.

15 pounds. Hard to believe they made them with so little thrust.

I have to believe that there is a fundamental difference in the way they measure thrust today than they did then. The manual says "15 pounds of STATIC (emphasis mine) thrust".

I am still working on the boat and it will be a while before I get to get it in the water and see what it can do.
