If it helps, the gauge has a white face, it runs up to 7000 RPM (10, 20, 30 etc X 100) and the outside ring is "chrome" in color. My guess, without having it here at the moment is it's probably a 3" dial. Hope you all can help. Thanks
And...my ignorance surfaces once again... I replaced the old gauge with the new one this past weekend. The boat fired up and the RPM's settled in at...400 at idle??? I'm pretty sure my motor (4.3L MPI, V-6 Mercruiser) idles around 7-800. I was very cautious to only disconnect one wire at a time then hook that wire up to the new tach before messing with the next wire. I also made sure the "cylinder" dial was on V6. Any ideas on where I might have screwed up? To be honest, I didn't read the manual as I "thought" it was a pretty straight forward job.
