My husband and I are in the very beginning stages of restoring a boat we just recently purchased (see thread titled, "New to the boat scene!") It is a 1956 14 foot fiberglass Blake Craft. We just found a 30 HP 2003 Honda Motor with remote start. My main question is...when we have it all done...what color scheme should I pick? It is going to be my boat, I am the fisher lady in the family, not my husband :). I like light colors, green is my favorite. He wants to put a light gray rhino like plastic covering in the entire bottom of the boat so it doesn't hold in the heat too much, but he suggested that the outer hull match the color. I am all for the spray on plastic covering. I could go on about what our ideas are for the boat...it is just going to be my little fishing boat that I can use on rivers and lakes only. It will never see the ocean! I was thinking perhaps stick with the white color and make the cap a seafoam green. Honestly, this is our very first boat...what does everyone here suggest?

I think a lighter color for the hull and the sea foam green for the top would look nice. And maybe a little color or strip down the side of the hull would certainly set it off...

I think the green and white would look very nice.
Maybe some old school flames on the side. Lol.

One color that comes to mind is possibly Fighting Lady Yellow. As it is more your boat, the name fits and its easy to hide scratches compared to darker colors. Just a thought. :)

I like these ideas so far! I am guessing that the general consensus would be a two color type of scheme and not 3 or 4? I'm not sure...I do have a color wheel at hand....would it look too tacky with the inside flooring completely light grey?

No, it wouldn't look bad,but I would go with a non skid white.
I used tuff coat on my deck. Love it. Easy to clean and soft on the feet. It has ground up rubber for the non skid.
