Or at least I thinks it's a Niagara

Picked up a freebie the other day.

Once I get the transom crap off, hopefully there will be an HIN there?
Never see this before? I hope they did not try to use it like that?

Well after emptying out the junk in side:

Before:

and after. There is actually a boat under all the grime!

As you can see, I did not touch the center area for a before comparison.

Splashwell was in there too! Sweet!

That's t for now.

Hey fstorm , This might get ya a little motivated .. :)

Awwwww you had to... didn't you! ;)

I think you might be right on the Edin.
The bow right in font of the windshield looks the same. Anyone know if the Edin is about 16ft and what the length is for the Niagara?

Well I took off the pieces on the transom and no HIN hiding under there. :(

With some help, I measured her and looks to be right about 14' 3" or so.

Here is what I see:
1. Has foam under the gunwale.
2. Looks like it maybe the original windshield? (has the round MFG emblem on the port side if it).
3. Also, the rotted seats that were in it looks to be that they called " Fun in the Sun" seats.

Here is what I have come across thus far:

Restore and use it on inland lakes. I already have a 1980 Mecury 40hp that I can user for it.

I'd really like to tag along if that's okay. I like the lines on these old MFGs. Should be a great project.

Sweetie Pie is looking a bit more respectful now after some scrubbing .. :joyous:

LOL!!! That will be coming off soon :lol:

Believe it of not, it's not in that bad of shape. I guess the layers of grime protected it somewhat over the years... bonus! :thumb:

Removed the old Transom yesterday. was not too difficult so I was glad for that. No holes punched through the hull so that is even better :)

Looks like the old transom was just 3/4 inch not including the fiberglass on the inside and out:

I'll tell ya, a tool like this make a HUGE difference! really minimizes the FG dust!

Have a GREAT Memorial Day weekend coming up everyone!

2 layers of 3/4" right .. Is it curved ? Mine was ..
It.s a shame they stopped making boats like this with all glass stringers and deck for such a long period of time .. Sure saved you a ton of work ! ;)
You may have to loosen up the gunwale caps in the back to get better access to the transom ..
If it's curved you can use 4 layers of 3/8 and laminate them in one at a time ..
