Good call on the strips on the bottom ... Should make it seem to handle a little better than sliding around on a piece of flat plywood ...
Although that might be kinda fun ! :D

Like the strips, you will taper them all like the center one too right? Seems to be the way to go for water flow.

Thanks gang, and yeah Pat, I plan to contour the fronts and round over the edges so the glass lays tight....those were just scrap pieces, ill probably use oak for them.

Im planning to skin the hull with S-glass...which will lay flat around the angles and edges and give the best puncture resistance.....I also need more E-glass for the Imperial...so looks like usc gets another order...

I was gonna put on the sides, but I think I need a second pair of hands so ill have to pull my helper off his jobs one day this week,

OK gang got a belated update:

Lately ive been going thru the doctor circle jerk, with little to show for it.....but thru all their tests, they said the ekg showed a silent heart attack, whatever that means, lol.....but they told the admiral which triggered a defcon 1 for a spell. So the doctors and the vampires at the lab have me on a rabbits diet and whatever..but all is well ;)

Ive managed to steal some shop time when the admiral was out and moved this project along.

With some help, I got the sides skinned, basically we cut the ply a bit over sized, then put it on with a few temporary screws, then traced off the contour, removed the screw\s, and put it with a jig saw. then rescrewed the sides on and filled the indents,,was a bit of a chore,,

Hope ya get the ticker stuff under control Zool !
The skiff looks great ... I could see where you would need an extra hand installing the side pieces ...

Thanks guys,

I decided to skin the 1st layer of cloth with 17oz, to get good abrasion resistance, I plan to follow with a few layers of 4oz finish cloth before fairing....I laid out a full drape and am letting the wrinkles settle a bit before spreading that much epoxy.

Update:

So last i left off planning to skin the outer hull in cloth, but ive decided against that. Now I plan to just barrier coat the wood, and paint. I need to move this to another work area, so I want to get it faired and painted, so I can flip it and move it out.

This is where i left off.

Im using 405, 406, and 410 for bonding, filling, and fairing

Backing up a step or two, I started pre=sanding the hull with 100 grit on an orbital. In hindsight, i wouldnt have coated the screw tops with epoxy because its a paint to sand back to even, and when done, there is little to no coating left. Its better to just fill in the screw holes with the fairing mix and sand from there...bit I did the task of sanding each screw area flat, and the rest of the hull with it.

I thickened some rein with a mix of 405, and 406 to fill in the gap on the nose and transom bottom. There was a triangle gap at the transom bottom because of the transom angle meeting the flat bottom. The nose gap is just a void left between the nose board and outer skin, which will be covered with a hand shaped nose board made of oak.

Today I mixed up a batch of resin and 410 to a thin, wet mix to fill in some voids and seams, and serve as a base to start feathering, Ill follow up next with a few sessions of a dry mix to feather it out into the field, and fill any shrinkage in the screw holes....
