Well I found some alarming warranty issues with the product on several reviews so I have decided to have it shrink wrapped by my marina.
The ROI is three seasons to break even. Fourth season your ahead 200.00 You do have to factor in all the labor it takes to set up and tear down and store.
Its time to fish... I will pick back up in the spring. Going to do upholstery work on my brothers boat and new bolsters for mine.

I'd think for the money they wanted for that boatigloo a guy could make his own and come out ahead. You have to consider storing it though.

Here's my suggestion. Go on Ebay and order some 1000D Cordura material. It's the stuff Backpacks are made from. Really tough stuff, HIGH UV resistance, 100% waterproof. Usually runs about $6-8 bucks a yard and it's 60" wide. Sometimes Free Shipping. You can easily sew it on a Home Sewing Machine. 20 yards would cost $160 bucks and would yield a tarp 12 1/2 x 25. A few grommets and bungie cords and you're good to go Less than $200 bucks. I'm a C.O.B. soooo That's how I'd do it!!!

The above is $180 bucks delivered!!! With grommets, thread and bungee cords you could make your own for approx. $200 bucks.

Well guys I buried the DONOR boat this weekend since the Lake Erie had 40 knot NE winds. I kept all mechanicals. I have motor and outdrive winterized and sitting in covered storage at the Marina.

I thought of that TDF, but I don't know what I would do with it and I'm overloaded now with boat parts having two of all the mechanicals. Just filled 12 more industrial totes I got from ebay and stored them in my shed. I now have a spare trailer to get rid of also and two other boats.... So its kinda over the top at this point. I wish I had a pole barn so I could continue work through out the winter. Wife wants my to finish the house refirb I started last winter which I quit to work on the boats. I told her yes dear.... Got an entire kitchen remodel to do... Why do you need quartz countertops and stainless appliances???

Well I have been fishing every weekend at Lake Erie for over a month. I am fishing with my 20 foot aluminum Fisher with a 4 cylinder Mercruiser I/O. Let me tell you Sunday I was in 6 foot waves with my fishing partner and thought. Man I would by high and dry if I had MY Rotten Lady out here. So I felt like all the work I am doing will be well worth it in the end. Kind of a revelation if you will. I could feel the itch of the glass as we pounded out 9 more miles.... Just sayin I miss workin on her I guess lol

I did get my perko battery switch wires finished. I installed all new crimped electrical terminals and heat shrunk them. I sent all three motor pulleys to the motorcycle shop to be bead blasted and painted rather then buying new.

Any ideas on how to sell a 60 gallon aluminum fuel tank? I have it and the trailer on craigslist but with no luck. Gee if you want something its cost a fortune. If your selling something its worthless....

Starting my interior refresh. I found rotten wood. Wow I just couldn't believe it. LOL Ordered all the components and awaiting delivery. This weekend I will begin plywood frame / backer construction.

Well Im moving slowly ahead but not as slow as the USPS. I guess its a bad time of year to be ordering boat stuff. The textile factory is shut down for Christmas for two weeks.
So I have manufactured the new wood backers and cup holder witch had to be redesigned since I wanted the extra large cup holder which would not fit. Also I have devised a drain system since the later just went into the bolster which I didn't understand. I am going to glass all the wood.

Well I had a little time this past weekend to get some work done.
I filled the motor mount curve that beds into the hull and I glassed the bolster pieces and installed the mounting studs. Hope to continue Christmas eve.

How can I make a new steering helm console? Mine is so brittle it cracks if you stare really hard at it. My duplicate donor boat console is the same way. here is a picture of it. I can get close ups if needed. Thank you

Personally, I would go with teak. Wood is easy to work with and will compliment the other teak on the boat.

I was thinking of wrapping it in CSM and gel coating it. I'm gonna get my donor console out and take a look at it with teak in mind. I will post some more detailed pics.

Well here is the donor console. Boy is it rough. As you can see in the picture above the project boat is in a little better shape. BUT. One wrong move and it will crack as did the one below. You have to have access to this area for wiring purposes and to do so you must REMOVE the steering wheel and three large bolts and then it swings down on an aluminum hinge.
So do that a couple times to add electronics and such and it will be cracked up so I want to try to come up with a fix that's not to awful complex.

Well I figured out the radius issue by using some scrap wall protectant covering. It stapled up nice and didn't crack. Next I need to cut and glue 2 inch foam. Im going to try 3M 90 for that and try to cut foam with an electric filet knife. I hope it works out since I haven't tried this method of cutting and gluing.

So it's Christmas and I'm out in the garage taking the console apart. Who would have thunk? Lol
I'm trying to wrap my head around how to do this?

My new thinking is why try to re create the old.
I do however want to use all the old gauges and switches since I have two sets of them and everything works.
I am planning on eliminating the speedometer.
I have 9 sheets of plywood from 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch
I have 3 gallons of resin 5 yds CSM and 5 yds of 1708. I also have 3 quarts of white gel coat but don't have a sprayer withe a tip large enough to spray it.

That all being said could I built it out of 1/4 or 3/8 and glass it on both sides and gelcoat the exterior with a brush and roller and make a slight repeating texture? I have never worked withe gelcoat yet but want to try to.
Could be a fun and interesting project. What do you fellows think?

Well The weather in Columbus has been warm and rainy so I thought I would continue as long as I can with special projects. The 3M 90 worked wonderful. Its quick and painless. Two base coats with 8 minutes between each coat and the final coat 3 minute tack time at 76 degrees seamed to be the ticket. The electric fillet knife cut the foam like butter. It was awesome....
I am still awaiting supplies to complete the rear bolsters so Its onto the steering console I guess. I'm still up in the air with the construction technics but thinking at least....

Can you tell me what cloth to use to make the figerglass helm with. I wouldn't think I would use 1708. It's basically a box with one open side.
