So here we are 2 years almost to the dot and I have some bad news........ MILKY OIL :blue: cracked 3.0l Block.

I am going to renew this thread and keep everyone updated as I am changing this from a 3.0L to a 4.3L should be a fun job. I know I know everyone is going to say not worth it but look at all the work I did on this I cant let it go to waste. Now before anyone says I need to change the drive I found a boat that I paid 500 for with a running 4.3L, Drive and trailer with the floor rotted out. :joyous:

So I may have some questions along the way but as far as I can tell I am going to need to make new motor mounts and that's about it. If anyone knows different let me know at this point.

Here are some pics of the new motor.

Nice job. I have a similar boat and plans for it. Upper drive and motor mounts is what I've seen from watching the engine upgrades. But the 4.3 and 3 liters ratios are really close anyway. Post lots of pics when you do it please.

So I am all done and boy does it ride nice now. Below are a couple of pictures of the engine installed. To do this I had to have a motor mount built by my local weld fab shop. Also the wiring harness was similar but different so I ran the 4.3 harness to my dash and match up the wires. Other then that the engine and drive mounted right up. If anyone has any questions let me know. I am a happy camper now.
