Hi, I got rid of the '77 Stamas after getting it running right for a newer Key West 15'. Well, I just so happened to luck up on a GREAT deal on this 1973 Seabird 21' (former cuddy). The great deal was that i got it for FREE. Hull is in SOLID shape.. deck has no weak spots, but the transom is shot. I was wondering about how to dig all the old plywood out.. i feel i need to cut the back deck where i have shown in the photos, so that i can get to the transom correctly.. I had thought about a partial transom repair but the plywood is gone all way across for the most part and if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. Any help in the best way to get the transom open would be appreciated.. photos included.

The red line marks where i'd like to make the cut. I'm thinking of using 1x2 screwed behind the inner deck plate, once i get ready to put it back together, use a peanut butter mixture, with temporary screws to hold it together, then fair the cut ln so it's not noticeable.. The deck will be repainted and nonskid kiwi or the like put down on the deck.

I'll also use this post for all of the updates to the boat if that's ok.

here are a few photos of the actual boat.. i'm going to convert it to a center console. it used to be dual console with the cuddy cabin. (cuddy was already removed before i got the boat)

After some research I'm now leaning toward seacast, nidabond or arjay 6011... Anyone have any experience with these? How about a good source with good prices?
