What would be the best material to use around the edge of a snap on boat cover for reinforcement? The main material is Sunbrella with Sunbrella binding. I am concerned about #1 shrinkage and #2 strength.

I use 1" nylon webbing, very inexpensive and makes the edges and snaps almost bullet proof.

Definitely nylon webbing, I like 1 1/2 wide. Some guys use strips of laminated reinforced vinyl but webbing is more flexible.

I use the Sunbrella webbing It is a combo of acrylic and polyester. I used some webbing for one my first covers and it turned to dust in a couple years. I believe it was polypropylene so definitely don't use that.
