Good to see you back John, I bet you were starting to suffer from lack of restoration sickness!! Looks like a good project.

We covered the floor with marine vinyl and the rest of the interior with marine carpet.

This boat and motor sat for about 4 years in someones back yard without being run at all, we changed the spark plugs cleaned the carbs a bit put in fresh gas with some sea foam and it started pretty easily compression was 112 on 2 cyls and 115 on the other 2.

Very nice job, when you moved the windshield forward how far out to the sides did it move to compensate for the narrowing of the hull?

Hey John just posted a link to an 18 V5 over in the StarCraft on Clist thread in the starcraft forum. Bit of a drive for ya but we are used to that.

Hey Glen I'm pretty sure it only narrowed by 1-1 1/2 inches, we raised the councils so the outsides of the windshield sit partly on the gunnels.

Bud thanks for posting this it is exactly how I want to do my 16SS. I think she turned out really nice. So the new transom is tied in lower than the factory one at the gunnels correct? Also did you raise the bow platform higher than the original seat bases or is it at about the same height?

Wow, nice work. These mid 70's SS Starcrafts are the only ones that I can find that look similar to my boat. Your works makes me very jealous.

What did you do to fill the holes on your gunwale. Did you replace any foam /flotation? I like your work you did the the aft area, is the port side the live well?

Thanks all, , honestsam there were hardly any holes in the gunnels only small screw holes, we replaced all the flotation with rigid blue foam as well as the inside of each side below the rod lockers which had nothing there, and yes the live well is on the port side, the battery is on the starboard side. thstratofam yes the new transum is tied in lower on the gunnels, the front deck is the same height we used the same inside aluminum insert exept we shortened it.
