Yup, you'll need to use a Dremel or a Drill with a grinding bit and grind the cracks open and then sand the gel coat back away from the cracks a couple of inches down to bare glass. You'll end up with a "V" shaped repair. Depending on how deep the repair is you may need to fill with filler. Then you will use a layer of CSM, then a larger layer of 1708, then 2 larger layers of CSM to complete the repair. Then some fairing material. Then sand and then gel coat or paint to finish.
