4 or 5 inches up on the bottom was what I was stinking also ... Maybe a 1X4 across the bottom to beef up a little and keep it from twisting ..

Kinda of an "O Crap" day.
Pulled of the tarps yesterday to reset and prep for the winter. Total pia doing that but required. Sling it back up tom. So on other notes;
Trimmed/fitted, prepped sealed new woods to support splashwell. Liker I said earlie I played with the stringers so the fit just isn't right. In addition prior I removed a section of the splashwelll that added support. I did it cause it will allow a larger access hatch. The hatch access being to me real important. I've seen so many hatches to the splashwell that are inefficient.
Well I cut wood, prepped my arse off and did the fit. Not real happy with it cause now I have to diddle with that. So to me elcrapo day. Next I have to retarp the boat. Cool part was walking on a deck...albeit not screwed down. Out of glue and cabosil.....blows.
Had to sand off alot of the paint to make sure I have a good glass bond. Got to say though the original paint job just really helped to make me push forward. I could glass over the paint but the bond would suck.
Oh my says me!

So I am looking into a hydraulic or manual jack plate The question I have is;
Will a 5" -10" deep jackplate install allow me close up the transom to flush top? Seems logical to me that I should be able to close up transom.
Responses welcome!

I dont think the jackplates will allow you to tilt the motor looking at how deep your cutout is...you need the cavitation plate aligned with your hull bottom...not sure if they adjust that high. A 10" setback isnt that much room. You would probably need a bracket

zool ....yea you're right. I can see the math of it. Thank you for bringing me back to reality. Those dang extensions are way $$$ out of my game right now. Was just trying to fly 1 under the radar. Would love to close that transom off and gain the square feet.
Stick with what I have and .....maybe down the line revisit the extension.
What with everything open right now {except my wallet} , maybe later down the road.
New tarp showing up today so I'll close er up and then check out my heaters for the winter work.

Any way came home from work and at least put the last old tarp on the boat. Posed to be real crappy tom. Didn't get the new tarp up that covers the whole boat but good enought for now. Long day. Used to be able to get on the hulltruth. Prob can't afford the bracket anyway. But thanks for input.
Old BEE-GEES in the background music...nice.

Actually, the guy says he doesnt know what its worth and is looking for any offers, but shipping from Fl may cost a bit.....typical, you can afford the porn sites, but not the boat parts! :laugh:

Well had to retarp up the boat. Used most of the old ones and relocated as needed. New tarp showed up 30' x 20'. So placed that yesterday morning when I got home from work. Set the lights back inside and just cleaned things up a little. Big tarp usually gets me thru 1 season and lets me work inside during the snows.
Going to check the heater for operation and do some more prep today.

Nice. I am with you on the heater in the boat deal. I been letting mine warm up a half hour before I get in when I do things already.
