No, take the spacers out. I think I tacked my mounts in with a few dabs of PB, waited for it to tack good, pulled them out and PB'd the rest. There are a lot of ways to do it. Woodonglass's recipe for PB is a quart of resin, 1/4 cup of 1/4" chopped fibers and 1.5 quarts of Cabosil. I got my Cabosil and chopped fibers from US Composits maybe a local boat repair shop will sell you some if your in a hurry, not so sure NAPA will have it. You want the chopped fibers to make it structural.
