There a very few production boats built in epoxy. Some high powered racing hulls using composite laminates etc. but most retail hulls for the general public are still being designed and built using polyester and vinylester resin and gelcoat. At the turn of the century they did mostly do away with wood core stringer systems and some even did the same with transoms but the resin and glass have stayed pretty much the same with the exception that Woven Roving is no longer used and the biaxials and tri and quadaxials have taken over. It's still a Cost thing.

There are no boats built from epoxy that use normal gel coat as an in mold coating, there are a few (very few) specialty gel coats that are epoxy compatible, but these are fairly new. There are also very few boats built from epoxy when compared to the numbers built from polyester and VE, so few that the average person, or even repair shop, would never see one or need to repair one. There are specialty built custom and semi custom water craft made from epoxy, but again, not that many.
