Carpet Adhesive?

Got a question. What do you guys recommend for carpet adhesive?

I just did the front seat bench area on my bow rider, using some regular indoor/outdoor adhesive used for outdoor carpet, etc, but it is pretty heavy/thick. Is this the norm?

I am getting ready to do the entire floor, and thought maybe using 3M spray adhesive might be a better idea, unless you guys think the paste type for outdoor carpeting I already used would be better.

Unless y'all have a better idea?

I have used both, and the 3M spray adhesive comes apart after a while. It works great for light traffic areas, upholstery, and for gluing foam. however falls a bit short for carpet.

The problem with the latex based in/outdoor carpet adhesives is that they weaken when they get wet and stay weak until the carpet dries back out then it strengthens back up.

I prefer a solvent based adhesive and the 3M spray will be good, but contact cement or the Dap solvent based All Weather Outdoor carpet adhesive will be cheaper and probably do a better job too.
