Thank you Wood,... I just was looking at some videos on 'backsplicing',.. looks easy enough,.. the heat shrink is a great idea!

Think I may have to get a bruce anchor,. or cut the opening in the pulpit larger for the Danford that I have...

And here she is in action,... mid-stream Hudson River,... heading straight into 3-4' breakers w/ a storm rolling in!

Working very well,..I had to cut the roller opening bigger (longer) to get the Fluke style anchor to settle in,.... still thinking a claw/plow type anchor would work better for this,.... and suggestions?

Thanks for all the pictures. I like the looks of the side braces. Did you say you tapered the plank down in regards to thinkness or just in width? I thought I read something about needing flex somewhere, but I'm not sure.

I think I'm going with the bouy anchor puller method (already built a tentative puller) but still want to store my anchor at the bow instead of underneath.
