I've been doing a lot of reading on how to replace the floor in my boat but I was wondering if anyone could point me to the best thread or website with good pictures and maybe some directions/tips. I have to replace the entire floor but am looking to do it without having to cut out the fiberglass seat pedestals. I'm guessing I will have to replace the stringers as well. I'm hoping I wont have to replace the transom. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

There are a number of good restoration threads (friscoboater's is one to search for; he has restored a couple of boats and documented the process very well with videos, posts, etc.). You also might try using the form search tool (upper right side above the listing of recent threads) and search for boats similar to yours. You might get lucky and find a thread on a restoration of a boat exactly like yours.

I also highly recommend Woodonglass' excellent primer on fabricating decks, stringers and transoms (http://forums.iboats.com/boat-resto...go-splashed-w-pics-384982-25.html#post3586813) and oops' guide to rebuilding and foaming a deck (http://forums.iboats.com/boat-resto...air/how-fiberglass-deck-foam-hull-543161.html).

Read those and you'll have some idea where to start. You also will get many more responses (and better help) if you post pictures of your project so we can see what you're working on.

Good luck!

Jim
