Took apart a 1969 glastron V-163. New floor and transom. The hull spread about 2 inches while working on it. Now trying to reattach the top to the hull and put on rubrail and struggling. Any suggestions?
Can you use a few ratcheting tie down straps. Don't ratchet first one down tight. Do each a little at a time. Compare measurement to cap as you tighten. Then when close, lower down and remove straps one at a time. Be sure to have no twist in straps, keep flat to hull. At least thats how I'd do it.:joyous: Hopefully someone more knowledgable will chime in. Good luck.
Yup, This^^^ is how it's done. This is a classic example of why it's Sooooo important to take measurements of the everything prior to removing the cap and during the installation of the stringers and deck to ensure everything goes back together as it should. Hopefully the straps will be able to bring her back where it can be put back on. If not, I fear you may have some cutting an re-glassing in your future!!!
