Make sure and wear your PFD when you take her out the first time. I FEAR she will be very "TIPSY" having the seats that High up on a Narrow Beam Canoe is not conducive to a stable platform!!!!:eek::faint2:

Agreed ^^^

The original plastic seats are recessed lower in the middle for a reason: to keep weight LOW in the canoe.

I think I heard you mention using drywall screws to secure the 3/4" wood to the original seats. I'd rethink using them for the primary connection between the 'new' seat setup & the original seat.

Be sure to use a waterproof camcorder when you shoot the remodel'd canoe's maiden launch.

U r correct, too high, so need to remove 7" pedestal, then it should be ok
