I have just bought an older 16' aluminum boat that was painted by one of the previous owners but the boat was not prepaired properly for paint, it is chipping, pealing all over the hull and underneath the bad paint job is a nice shinny yellow paint showing.
So I'm hoping for some tricks or tips to remove the top coat and save the botom original coat of paint. Anyone run across this?
Thank-you. Jim

If you are lucky you could try a pressure washer. Start or find an area where it is coming off and start working the top coat from there. The water may get under it and push it off. Otherwise you are prolly looking at stripper. Good luck!

Good advice from lokonn, I'm afraid he is right if you can't pressure wash it off you will either have to sand the bad stuff off down to the good, or strip the whole thing. Being from Canada we have a great product at Home Hardware called Safe Strip cost effective and an all natural product.
