I think they snap on & off, sort of like a C clip...

Those slide snaps ? You could remove some of the frame and slide them out..or you can tape next to them ( trying not to damage the frame) and pry them out with a screwdriver. I personally use a dremel with a wafer cut off wheel to cut the clip a bit before I do the pry out .
