We have a 1990 Sea Ray 270 and am in the process of restoring the interior. The head-liner and hull-liner must all come out due to leaks around the bow rails, arch and side windows. During the past two days, I have learned how the boats were put together... but won't go into that at this time.

My question is how do you take the dinette apart? I have all of disassembled with the exception of the foward and aft bench bases... It appear the entire base and floor section was dropped in prior to installing the top of the boat. Considering we have the interior torn down this far, we would like to add some storage under the dinette floor. Are screws hidden under the carpeting? Additionally, the bulk-heads (forward and aft of the dinette) are also really tied in...

Any help would be appreaciated.

I have a buddy that has a 1996 SeaRay 270, but yours may be a bit different, being 6 years earlier. Can you post a bunch of pictures? That may help folks comment and advise.

FWIW, most of the interior of boats are built/installed prior to the deck/cockpit liner being mated to the hull (much quicker at the factory)

The bench bases (v-berth/settee) may be glassed into the hull and may not come out (easily). It may not be necessary though. Check out the clubsearay.com site for additional info. they may have some factory tour pictures, which may help.

not having much luck attaching files.... Is there a max size you can up-load? I could only get one to upload.

We tore more interior out today. The interior was built without the top off and it is posing some challenges along the way.

the bulk-head at the forward section of the dinette is going to be the next task. I would not take it out except the top is tight against the underside of the cabin ceiling and no way to the get new head-liner in.

Other challenges are:
electrical cabinet
trim around the doorway
carpeting

I'll try to get more pictures loaded.

Ted,
Here are a few pictures that my wife took. They show one of the cabinets I removed and the large bulk-head I would like to get out yet.

I don't have any detailed pictures of the dinette yet.... I can get some tomorrow.
