Replacing rail fitting in bow pulpit section of bow rail?

I am adding a bow pulpit from a 1987 Bayliner Ciera 2550 to my 1986 Bayliner Ciera Sunbridge 2450 and am replacing the bow rail to match the bow pulpit extension. I am purchasing a used 2450 bow rail and the fittings in the bow pulpit section are pitted and I would like to replace them. How would I get them past the curves in the rail? Does anyone know of a jaw type fitting? Your experience and expertise is appreciated. Thanks!!!

Re: Replacing rail fitting in bow pulpit section of bow rail?

Looks to me like they put the fittings on and then made the bends. Not too many options if that's the case. The fitting look like 60 degree T's. Try bending the rail just enough to get the T's past the bends or cut the rail where T's will be tightened down to hide the cut inside. Not sure if they make a clam shell 2 piece type T fitting, if so you could cut the old one off then put new on.

My thoughts exactly on cutting the old one off if there was a clam shell type fitting but my searches have not found any. I don't want to cut the rail so it looks like I will have to live with it. Thanks again!!!!
