I just purchased a 1967 sears runabout boat and I know nothing about it
the inside is gutted out just a stearing wheel and front light which is red and green
other than that there is nothing in or on it
I was told that it was a 1967 and that's what I have it registered through the state as
but I want to start restoring it but I know nothing and cant find anything about these old sears boats
its fiberglass and red and white paint
any pictures or information would help
it is rated for a 45 hp motor and up to 4 people
thanks cr

some pics will be here shortly

Re: old sears 14 runabout boat

I don't think Sears actually made any boats for themselves. They were all re-branded other maker's boats. I think I've only seen pix of 1 'Sears' runabout that was fiberglass. Looks like it's probably an Elgin made boat....

Pix will definitely help...

From Fiberglassic's Library

The details for the 1967 match the 1964 for a 13' 9" runabout fiberglass boat. Those specs likely also match the 1964 Sears 14 (bottom boat):

Good luck w/ your project & post up some pix when you can..

Re: old sears 14 runabout boat

I had the smallest one pictured here at 14 feet long. It was very bare bones but it did get us on the water for a while. Too bad my partner at the time decided to overload her one trip, she sank from a big wake he tried to negotiate in 8 feet of water. It had no flotation so down she went. Post up some pictures please, and welcome!!
