Hello, After Discovering my transom was full of corrosion and pitting. I finally decided to put and aluminum plate over the existing transom. I want to riveted it all together. The question I have what type of Epoxy or Hull-Thru silicone should in between the transom and plate?

How thick of a plate?

You shouldn't need more than just a 1/16" sheet and you can bond it to your existing corroded transom with a marine epoxy... and you don't even really need that.

You can skim the inside of your transom with a good marine epoxy, then install your transom wood. If you have any pitting on the outside you can skim it after the transom wood is installed.

Painting your transom after skimming and before installing the wood will prevent future corrosion.
