Looking good from here! Hey are you re-using the old fuel filled hose or just using it for layout? I know that stuff is expensive but remember back in the day there wasn't corn juice mixed in the gas. The new fuel lines are good with the ethanol, shielded for low permeation and of course marine rated.

great work I would replace fuel hoses as well
and that head bolt breaking most likely was some one over tightened it and it finally went , have seen that many times or " hey the head gasket is leaking maybe if I just tighten.... oh crap! lol

Just using it to lay out fuel line position an length that I will need.

Ok I was able to Gel-Coat my deck with the help of DeepBlue and Ondarvr :first:.

I can now start reinstalling some inside components, like seats, steering, and wiring. I may need to start on the inside upholstery also :behindsofa: .



But before I install the Transom assembly I want to scuff the outside and Gel-coat the outer transom skin. That way if I want to ride
:fish2: around in a brownish boat next year I can.

Well I nearly lost my :laseraughter, luckily she was at college over the weekend. I would have died right after that :faint2:. :mad-new: SWMBO

Last year I rebuilt my MC1 transom assembly. Built a Jig to support it, and after I finished the rebuild very carefully slid the Jig and all under my 52 truck out of everyone's way. Placed plastic over it to protect it from dust and dirt.

Went to get it out this past weekend, it was on it side and the Jig was missing:faint:. One side is all gouged and scraped up :faint2:. Found the Jig up in the daughter room. She needed something to use to work on her ART projects.

Well I got that off my chest.

Now to other news Gel coated the outside of the transom.




I first scuffed up the surface with 100 grit, then used four coats of Gel with WAX on the last coat. I used my palm sander with 100 grit to knock off the top and various roller debris in the Gel Coat. Am at the moment wet sanding wet sanding with 220 grit. Will be going to 500, 1000, then 1500.
I'm thinking of doing the whole boat, but only sanding down the area's that gear or rails mount at. Then have a sanding polishing party with the family since they will probably be the ones to use it while I'm at work.

After I finish doing the transom will be putting the mechanical back in. Got the motor painted blue over the weekend. I can put the boat back together while I Gel coat the outside.

Good to hear from you all. Between the weather and travel I haven't had time to work on the boat or engine.
Yesterday thought a miracle accrued :clap2: Boat Fairies. I went to work on the side damage that was above the fender. It was missing, found it about six inches behind the end of the fender. The boat has been sliding backward on the trailer for the past year:drum:. Guess I better put the winch stand and bow hook back on.

But since the side damage is now in a better location better finish it now.

I think the black will look good with the Blue



Also worked on my Dash setup, piece of flat fiberglass I had.

I have been looking for a wood or black veneer, or vinyl type of shelf liner to wrap the dash panel in.



Worked on keel a little.



That black mark is where a roller sat. The first cross beam is where the roller mark suppose to be. That how much the boat slid on the trailer.
Strange that the scraping ended right before the roller.



Put just three coats on, now to sand it down a little before the Bow Eye goes back on

After a little makeup, a trial fitting

Still need to buff the gel more Started with 100, 180, 220, 500. I did buff it a little. I think I need to jump to 1000 grit then rebuff.

Worked on my panels a little.
