Anybody have experience with paint restoration on older aluminum hulls?

Polishing compound?

Any other chemicals?

Recommended waxes?

Thanks for any advice

BOat has not been in water for 3 years... Setting outside in sun

A lot depends on what kind of paint it is, how thick it is etc. If you start trying to polish it etc, you're likely to burn thru the paint. I'd recommend a light hand buffing using Turtle Wax T-241A Polishing Compound & Scratch Remover

You can try some polishing compound but nothing harsh. Start with a product that is considered ultra-fine polish first because regular rubbing compound might cut too fast and eat right through the paint.

I have a DUO 14' fishing boat that was painted white originally but is now in very bad shape. Looking for advice on how to restore it. I also need to know how yo identify the boat. I cannot find any numbers on it.

Stanulis, this thread is a year old. Forum rules state you should start your own thread and not open old ones. You will get better results that way.;)
