Yeah, well using epoxy will for sure make it a TANK!!!! Using Screws will ensure shes solid. You might consider drilling several 1/2" holes in the transom wood to allow the PB to ooze through and avoid air pockets and really make a mechanical bond to the outer skin. Something to think about.

You know, I think i will, epoxy pegs to hold it tight!

Update:

I spent some time the other day grinding the transom area clean enough to make templates for the transom. I found a large cabinet cardboard box and cut it open to a flat piece. Then i taped it to the outside of the transom, then traced the bottom of the hull to get the form. then too it in the bilge and marked the top to inset into the lower portion of the transom, and trimmed it some more, i made it a little larger than needed.

Then I attached another strip of cardboard to the template, to make the second 3/4 sheet for the lam.

Then I offset them on each piece of ply to make the beam lam and traced it out..

I cut out the pieces and temporarily put the puzzle together

Now im gonna predrill some holes and temp attach it together, then do a final trim to get it all even and ready to glue.

Yeah wood, thanks, it working out good so far. Gets a little confusing but the template is golden and gets you back on track. I guess im gonna round off the edges with a router, just have to find the roundover bit. All the pieces are cut and I may get to put a coat of epoxy on them tonight.

If you can't find the bit, a File works pretty good too.

Thanks Arch, the cardboard traced from outside made short work of it.

I ended up using a belt sander to clean the edges and round over...

After assembing it, trimming and beveing it, and disassembling it, i mixed up some 3:1 epoxy and coated one side of each piece.

Update:

I got the transom all glued together, and a few coats of epoxy over it. Ready to test fit.

Still grinding out some areas, and i needed to cut out some acess ares to get to the outer stringer sections under the aft cabin, which have delaminated. Its all marked out and ready to cut when weather permits.
Im measuring out the stringers, but im not really happy with the bcx ply from home depot, and I think i may have sourced some Arouco ply from a local yard. The transom will be fine all sandwiched like a Smore, but I want a better ply for the stringers and gridding.

Pics to follow when i locate the wire thingie...

Heres the transom all glued and coated. When I figure how to get it in the boat, ill drill some relief holes, rough cut the keyholes, and drill out the bracing holes.

Its heavy lol

A 9.9 would push it nice....

I marked off the coffin box area and cut it out, ill pb and glass it back in when done, dont really have to, but may as well enclose the tank as before.

will be tight working conditions in there..
