No stringers...seems fishy. Pictures would help immensely.

This is a 69 Shark, 17'
The only wood was a pair of 1X10's resting on 3 1X3's
They were tied in with heavy Roven and Foam.

Get yourself a photobucket account (Photo and image hosting, free photo galleries, photo editing) which is free. You can then upload your boat photos to your photobucket account. When you're looking at a photo in photobucket if you click on the box that says 'image code' it responds by saying link copied. You can then simply paste that link into this thread and the photo will be displayed when you click reply. It's really easy and you can even download the photobucket app to your smartphone if you have one and see your photos/send them to people/upload from phone camera.

P.S. I don't work for photobucket!

Yup, the 2 lb. density is probably what you want to use.

This is the inside of my 1974 Larson shark 1650 special edition .... From my feed back I am going to run 2 1x4 on the flat down each side of the middle held up by 3 Pieces of 2x4 and 2- 2x4 's on the flat across front n back of boat ... Should I try and put 1x4 on flat on each side as well as I need to fasten deck down somehow ..... After wood is in I will glass them in with braid fibreglass

Re: 1974 Larsen shark 1650

If I'm not mistaken that's what's known as a Foamed Hull. No Stringers and gets it's structural integrity from the foam filling the entire hull cavity. You will need to do your homework on how to build your deck and then how to pour your foam to ensure that it Properly fills and supports the hull as it did from the factory. It's critical for that hull design since it does not have stingers for support. You might want to PM Ondarvr, one of our members. He might have some Professional insight on this one. I might be Off Base on this, but I don't think so.

Ayuh,.... If it's Outboard powered, probably a 6 gallon portable stuffed under the splashwell...

Was there any luck restoring this boat?

I have the same setup so I am quite interested...
