Purchased this boat online in MN USA, looked pretty good in the pics, exterior was in excellent condition, but the interior needed work. So I made it my winter project in 2012

First thing I had to was install a swing tongue to fit in my garage

Tearing it down, didn't want carpet on the floor going to use marine vinyl

Had to replace the wood in the center and bow section, notice that piece of ply in pic, pretty bad for a 9 year old boat, previous owner must have left out in the elements a lot.

Built new SS boarding ladder

Built a front hitch receiver for my motor home a lot easier to launch boat, pic is before it was welded

Used it 3 times nice boat, actually very well built boat not much for rivets on interior build mostly SS screws and nuts and bolts, then found on Craigs list in Minneapolis MN a 1979 Starcraft v5 18 that I've been looking for the last 5 years, had one 30 years ago loved it so I bought it, and sold the Lund, currently rebuilding the SS v5

Thanks Glen, Ez, got a pretty good price for it but when I consider the amount of hours I put into it don't know but I enjoyed doing it, although must have climbed in and out of it a thousand times, a lot harder when you're doing a boat your self, my son wasn't around to help, either with the Lund or my new project.

What kind of vinyl did you use on floor, have exact same boat, owned since new and carpet getting worn. Looking for vinyl but some samples are as thick as kitchen tile.

I used marine vinyl, it's called nautolex, and it's fairly thick you can check it out online, Good luck on your project.

I know this thread is old but ... I just bought a 2003 Lund 1700 Fisherman. And was looking to see how to remove some of the floor panels to get access to hull. The step-by-step is great. And the before and after are incredible. Great work.
