I need to replace the plywood bench seats in my 14' Sears V bow aluminum boat. They are about 12" wide and 48"s long. I used marine plywood about 20 years ago and they are now rotten in places. I was thinking about using plastic from restroom partitions, doesn't rot, but heavy. Would like to keep boat light. Could use pine boards or plywood or ?
Any suggestions?

MDO plywood is a good option. ABX plywood would work fine. You don't need marine ply for that application. Just make sure you protect it with epoxy sealer or a good oil based paint or both.

MDO IS some really good stuff. Used for Exterior sign making. Holds up well for exterior use. A bit pricey however. Lowe's or Home Depot, at least some of them, Carry a plywood brand called Arauco. It is 7 ply with almost NO VOIDS. Exterior grade so it uses waterproof glue. Very good stuff. If you use that and apply 3-4 coats of Marine Varnish and or Rustoleum Professional Oil Based Paint and it will last another 20+ years.;)
