just wondering if the decking on a aluminum lund tyee needs to have glass on it? was told by a buddy to just put a coat of resin on the wood, with no actuall glass, and that is enough to seal it. i'm using 3/4 plywood for the deck, so there is lots of strength. what do you recommend? it will have carpet on top.

You will want to use a few coats of epoxy to seal the top, bottom, and sides of the wood. With this there is no need to glass it.

This is true what carpe says however we will not release this information until/unless we see photos of your cool Lund project there;):D

Epoxy resin is a must for a good sealing job, polyester resin won't work without glass cloth.

You can save some time and epoxy if you don't seal the bottom of your decking, the only time that is going to get wet is if your boat sinks.

Apply 3 or 4 coats of epoxy resin to the topside and edges for a very long lasting deck.
