No gelcoat & you will sink ??

Ahoy mates, i have just bought a boat that has recent
Paint job, not factory pretty but not bad either.
Si is it true that if thers no gelcoat under the paint she will
Overnight ? And how would you know if theres gelcoat
Under the paint ? Thanks,

I always carry an extra pint with me just in case, keeps me from sinking if I fall in.

Your boat will not sink if it does not have gelcoat under the paint..

The only way for a boat to sink is if it has a hole in it..or a faulty pump.

Dunno if its paint over gel..you would have to remove some paint to see if its gel or some kind of primer under the paint ( it will NOT be paint over raw fiberglass )..
