I have a 99 Hurricane deck boat that I am trying to clean up/restore. The plastic seat bases were covered with a vinyl material that was glued on. I have removed the vinyl and am trying to remove the glue residue. I have tried acetone, mineral spirits and lacquer thinner with limited results. When I do get the glue completely off the plastic has a very porous look and I'm concerned about how it may degrade from the sun exposure and be very hard to keep clean because it is so porous. Any suggestions on a product to apply to the plastic to seal it up and make it low-maintenance. I thought maybe fiberglass resin but not sure. Thanks for any help.
