I have a Glastron bowrider and while loading the boat on the trailer, wind caught and made the boat go over a bolt that WAS sticking up too high and caused a scratch leading to a slight gouge in it. Does not seem to be leaking, but was informed should repair with cabosil. Are they correct. I'm not a body person but learn pretty quick.

Any pictures of the damage would be very helpful. Sounds like gelcoat, and maybe a little glass damage? More information will help everyone offer up suggestions.

most whacks in the gell that are down to the glass will need another small layer of glass over it..

you can quicky patch with marine tex.......but with all that work id rather just re gell the area.

mix cabosil with gellcoat......fill and fair than buff.

btw......body repairs are not like a car.......the materials are different....the approach is different.........when the body people put the spray gun down...they go home.....when we but the gun down....we roll up our sleeves and get to work
