Im trying to pull all the stuff off my little aluminum valco bayrunner , time to re-floor it before new motor.

Im having trouble getting the stainless box seat off, the screws are pulled and now im trying to free it ( UP ) out of the aluminum case...figuring that will expose the screws that attach it to the boat.

Possible reason 1. the plug at the bottom needs to be detached first ?
2. the insulation is sticking to it and I need to use more muscle?

Ive gotten such great help from this forum , its the first place I thought of after giving up.

happy 4th!

There is no way this one is going to get answered without some pics.

Thanks for that response, this should clear it up:
fishbox.jpg

I think is going to show up sideways but should give folks a good idea of what I have.

the main idea is that I dont want to destroy something that is easy to replace.
thanks for any ideas.

Ok , Its the plumbing thats keeping it there.

Again , this is a fish box seat that has a drain to the back of the boat. There is a stainless steel insert and the bolts that attach this to the boat are hidden under the insert.

I have pulled the hose from the transom end and can see that it moves when I pull on the box.
Looks like I will be destroying the drain to see how it attaches to the ss box, im sure there are replacement sleeves for drains like this.

will post a picture when I get it off to for others that may want to do this.
