Hey guys I am new to iBoats and to boating in general. I would love to be part of this club and pick your brains for info on how to restore my boat. I picked this 75 Chrysler Sport Satellite for $100. The engine is a 1977 75 hp Evinrude. After replacing tires, bearings, and seals on the trailer I still have less than $300 into. I am pretty sure its going to need a new transom and stringers.

Cool boat ... and I like that outboard. When cared for, they're a good outboard.

THIS FORUM is where you want to start your restoration topic. Good information and lotsa' help over there.

Welcome aboard.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if I could get invited to this awesome group of fellow Tri-hulls. I am currently restoring my 1964 Evinrude gull-wing sports16, and hope to be done within a year. Thanks for the consideration:

I've finally made enough progress to start showing off my boat again... It still has a lot of work left to be done, but it's starting to look like a boat again

howdy guys, new subscriber here, I live in southeastern Utah and I currently own 5 tri hull boats. I love the way they ride and love the looks I get as I go by. hoping I can get some help. trying to find any info on my Apollo tri hull. it was built in 1976 and the manufacturer on the registration states ABM I assume it stands for Apollo boat manufacturing. I can only find Apollo JET boat info. mine is not a JET. mine has the OMC 190 sterndrive in it. if you would like I would love to send some ictures. on a side note I also have an original "Flipper Boat" not exactly the one from the tv show, but same. mine is a 1967 Formula Thunderbird. this boat is also a tri hull and it is 24 feet long and is a weird cabin cruiser. it also has the OMC sterndrive in it. Any way, sorry so long but any help is greatly appreciated! thanks

Anyone know where I can get a replacement rear white light mast for the retractable light like on the back of smalltownguy2's crestliner? The top portion of mine is completely boned and the shaft isn't in the greatest shape.....Can you use a standard light in those fixtures?

I just ordered a new telescoping light from iBoats and used my old base ... shoulda' gone LED, but didn't think about it at the time.

Which one did you decide on SK?
Sorry - let me rephrase what I typed more accurately: "At the time I replaced mine, I simply ordered a new light."

I went with THIS ONE. I "Frankensteined" the base together with my old one and got it lookin' mostly original.

Gotcha. I double checked mine and I can use pretty much any standard light, I just have to pull the bottom off and wire it into the boat. I found a replacement like I had for $20 locally, though for double, I could get an LED that telescopes out to 48"...not sure about that since the light would be permanent and that fragile end would be sticking up all the time, waiting to get knocked off or damaged by the cover over winter.

LOL ... I found that my burgee flying off the light post tends to pull on it harder than anything else does. I just keep it telescoped a little lower.

I just picked up a new tri-hull myself! An old 1974 Seaswirl Cascade. It's a 15 foot little beauty that seems to have been very well maintained. The owners say it's always been garaged and never been in salt water.

I read elsewhere on the forums that this boat has a solid fiberglass deck with foam stringers and cross-members. Have yet to look at that. Picking the boat up next week in Salem.

I can't wait to get her out on the water! Glad I found this forum.

Hey amityeric, she looks great! You'll love that motor too - I just repowered my 1977 grew with a brand new etec 60hp and love it. When you get it make sure you use the high grade XD100 synthetic oil in the injector tank, especially if it has been programmed for it. The oil is tan coloured, not blue like the usual stuff.

Can't wait to get her out on the water. Would love to see a picture or two of your '77 tri-hull.

Should I use the XD100 synthetic oil even if it hasn't been programmed for it? And how do I find out? Thanks.
