If you start to fix it up and change your mind you can allways cut it up, but if you cut it up you sure can't change your mind and fix it up that's why I have a back yard full of boats I just can't seem to wash my hands of

This was given to me. Do I fix it up or do I cut it up?
To be real honest with ya' poppop, my first reaction is carve and part. Imperial wasn't a bad boat, they had a couple of hulls I really liked. But, that one looks like it's been let go a LOOOOOOONG time. You could recover some money from the trailer and the sterndrive, junk the hull and probably find something similar pretty easily.

I'd be really concerned about the "bones" of that boat.

I'm new to this forum and to boat restoration and I'm currently working on my first powerboat, a '76 Ebbtide Lakemaster, it's a trihull. I'm glad I found this trihull club and look forward to learning and hopefully contributing ast well. I'm trying to document the process as well as I can so others can learn from it too.

Well...... Rather than cutting through the large waves with a single V like a knife edge, a tri-hull more or less hits the waves with 3 V's (VVV) like a brick wall. :D;)

They also go where you point them instead of wandering all over the place like a deep V

OK I got myself in all kinds of **** going to be my first full restore looks like I came to the right place! Iboats is a amazing site. Cant wait to be a member of this elite group. All I know for now is it is a 1979 VIP Tri Hull 15'. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.. I dont have a ton of money but I know how to work hard. I was a member of the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team 11B. From my research I think I have a 1958 Evinrude v4s-10 Four Fifty Starflight Outboard on the Back. Im going to post my full Restore. I will start a new thread in the restoration forum... 11077568_10205506485414686_1851200259_n.jpg

Hey Storm - welcome aboard, and thanks for your service - If I've got your brigade figured right, y'all punched a couple of big holes in Iraq.

Those VIPs had a similar hull to a boat I used to own. I really liked the layout of mine (Royal American). I will say those bunks are kinda' interesting, tho :)
