I am undertaking the same project as Jeff in Re: 1991 Bayliner Trophy 2002 Transom Repair, only mine is a 1990. i asked a question about painting the non-skid deck a contrasting tan which would leave a border of the original off-white gellcoat. i wanted to start a new thread to get some advise. Will Interlux be durable enough for this surface ie will the "nibs" of the antiskid be prone to wearing off? Should I sprinkle antiskid granuals inbetween the coats? Suggestions for prep?..obviously sanding is not really an option..... Looking forward to the thoughts.....

If your going to nonskid..use Griptex.. IMO..

I would Use AWLGRIP LP ..

Typically if you mix your paint and hold the paint stick about 60 deg. it will show you your pattern of non-skid. ( depending on the paint though ).

Never tried the Interlux nonskid..

I did my deck with it, it brushes on like heavy cream and covers well BUT dirt sticks like stink to it.
