Pretty much what WESTTEXAS said. But mine had a lock nut that screwed on from the outside.
Take off the lock ring. You may have to use a screw driver and hammer to start it. It will, or should have some sealant on it, so it may be a bit gummy. (ignore the clamp, I'm redoing my transom.)
Reach inside and start working the pump off.
Done!
