Hi i bought a 1978 Sea Sprite a 16ft open bow ski/fish tri hull. The hull in general is in good shape. It does have a 6inch area on the keel that is damaged/crushed from where the keel hits shore. It seems that the damage has reached the wooden keel of the boat as I think it is wood i see.
my ? is: should i just sand away the damaged area before I fiberglass or should I take a chisel and take out the damage?
Also any tips on the fiberglass repair. last time i did it was with my dad 10yrs ago on a canoe.
i just purchased a fiberglass repair kit from the auto store. will that do?
