aluminum boat floor

hi im new to the site i just recently bought a 16ft aluminum boat and i wanted to put a casting deck in. does anyone have tips on what to use and the big dilemma im having is to how to make a template some sites said to use cardboard. i dont know where to find cardboard big enought so does anyone have any ideas on what to use?? thanks

yep, done it for years, cheaper than plywood, with a bad cut.

I've been using foam core board for templates. Cost is about $6 a sheet for 3/32 board, but it's very stiff and stronger than cardboard, cuts easily and cleanly with a razor, and you can hot glue strips of it to "outline" a larger template area.

I got mine at a local art store.
